# How to Use Waiting List Service

[Pickleballbrackets.com](//Pickleballbrackets.com) offers a Waiting List Service to assist tournament that have filled to capacity and have players/teams waiting on openings in the main draw.

To prepare the software to use the Waiting List Service, you first need to tell the event how many players it can hold.  To do this, go to the event and select "Edit Event."

First, make sure the waiting list service is turned on.  If this is off, the system will not move players who need to be moved into the main draw.

Scroll down to the Max Teams and Max Waiting List Teams section.  If the Max Teams section is full, then you will want to make sure the Max Waiting List Teams is set to something greater than 0 to allow teams to sign up for the waitlist.

In this case above, the maximum teams is set to 5 with 2 teams waiting on spots to open.  If one of the 5 teams drops out of the main event, the system's waitlist service will automatically move one of the 2 waitlist teams into the main draw and send them an email indicating the move.  If the service is turned off, the team will remain on the waitlist until you manually move them.
