# How to Configure Basic League Info in PL

This article covers the Basic Info page — the first step when creating a new league in Pickleball Leagues (PL). Basic Info sets the fundamental parameters that define your league: its format, [player group](/72000638128-managing-league-players-balances), and public visibility.

## Basic Info fields

| --- | --- |
| Status | Set to Active for an open league. Change to Closed when league play is complete. |
| Show on Search | Set to Yes so players can find your league when searching. |
| League Title | The ongoing league name — not a session-specific title. See [Understanding League Structure in PL](https://pickleball.com/docs/en/72000650014-league-set-up---understanding-league-structure). |
| Player Group | Choose Men's, Women's, Mixed, or Coed. Mixed applies to partner leagues only. |
| Format | Choose Doubles, Singles, or Skinny Singles. |
| Allow Player Score Entry | If Yes, registered partners can enter scores for their own matches. |
| Logo (Optional) | Upload a league logo. Defaults to your club logo if none is uploaded. |

> **Note:** The logo must completely fill the specified area. It will not display correctly if smaller than the required dimensions.

## Frequently asked questions

### What's the difference between Mixed and Coed?

Mixed refers to men and women competing as partners together — this is a partner league format only. Coed allows men and women to play together in any format. If you're running a scramble or open play league, choose Coed.

### Can I change the league format after creating it?

Use Edit League from the League Menu. Most Basic Info settings can be changed at any time, though changing the format after a session has started is not recommended.
