# How to Manage Session Players in PL

The Session Players screen is where you manage the roster for your current session — adding players manually, adjusting ladder positions, removing or hiding players, swapping partners, and importing rosters from a previous session.

## How to access Session Players

From the League Menu, click **Session Players**. Players are listed in their current ladder ranking order.

## Adding players manually

1. From Session Players, click **Add Player**.
2. Search by last name and select the player.
3. The player is added to the roster. New players start at the bottom of the ladder or at their rating, depending on your session's "New Players Start" setting.

## Moving players up and down the rankings

Click the **up/down arrows** next to a player's name to manually adjust their position on the ladder, then click **Save**.

## Removing or hiding players

Two options are available before the first game day has started:

- **Hide Player** (person icon) — use when a player will be missing for an extended period but may return. Hides them from game day groups without removing their record.
- **Delete Player** (trash icon) — removes the player from the session entirely. Only available before the first game day has started, since stats haven't accumulated yet.

## Swapping players on a team (partner leagues only)

1. Click the **two-arrow swap icon** next to the player you want to replace.
2. Click the player you want to swap out.
3. Search for the replacement player and select them.
4. Click **Swap**.

## Importing players from a previous session

To bring all players from a prior session onto the new session roster:

1. Click **Import & Seed by Previous Session**.
2. Players are added to the roster and seeded based on their previous session standings.

> **Note:** Using Import & Seed by Previous Session is the most efficient way to start a new session with an existing group of players. It preserves relative ladder positions from the prior session.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### A player will be away for a few weeks — how do I handle that?

Use Hide Player instead of Delete. This removes them from game day groups without losing their record. You can unhide them when they return.

### Why can't I delete a player after the session has started?

The Delete Player option is only available before the first game day starts. Once games have been played and stats have accumulated, players can only be hidden, not deleted.
