# How to Set Up a King of the Court in PL

This article covers how to run a King of the Court or DUPR Session [game day](/72000638106-league-setup---adding-one-or-multiple-game-days-to-session) in Pickleball Leagues (PL) — from opt-in setup through entering scores, managing subs, and completing the rating session.

## Step 1 — Set up the game day

1. Each player shows as **Not Playing** by default. Players must click **Opt In** to participate in the game day.
2. After the opt-in window closes, click **Groups** to verify the first round of matches is correct.

***

## Step 2 — Enter scores

1. Click each match to open the score entry screen.
2. Click each score circle and enter a number.
3. Click **Save Scores**.
4. If a match was not played, click **Cancel Game** — this is required to complete the game day.
5. Use the round dropdown to navigate between rounds.

***

## Step 3 — Handle subs

1. For each match where a player needs a sub, click **Sub Player** **before** scores are entered.
2. Click **Sub Player** for the player being removed.
3. "SUB for..." appears next to the player's name for that game.
4. Repeat for each game the player needs a substitute.
5. If a player needs to leave early or doesn't show, click **Remove Player**. They can be added back to the rotation if they return.

***

## Step 4 — Advance rounds or complete the session

1. Once all matches in the current round have scores, click **Save & Start Next Round** if you want to continue to another round.
2. When all rounds are complete, click **Complete Ratings Session** to end the game day and submit results.

> **Warning:** If you need to opt a player out or change the first round matchups after starting, click Start Over. This erases all scores entered for the game day.

## Frequently asked questions

### I need to change the first round after starting — what do I do?

Click Start Over. This resets the game day and erases all scores. Only use this when necessary as it cannot be undone.

### How do DUPR results get submitted after the game day?

You must click Complete Ratings Session once all matches are done. This is what triggers DUPR submission for the game day's results.
