# How to Manually Add a Player to Your Tournament in PT

You can manually add a player to your tournament in Pickleball Tournaments (PT) when registration is closed, before it opens, or when a player is having trouble registering themselves. Players must have a [Pickleball.com account](/72000637050-how-to-use-the-kiosk-to-check-in-players) to be added — they need to accept the terms and conditions on file.

## How to manually add a player

1. From your tournament, open the **3-line menu** and select the **Attendees** tab.
2. Click the green **Add New Attendee** button.
3. Search for the player by **last name**, **email**, or **phone number**. Have this information ready before you start.
4. Review the search results. Players already registered appear highlighted in green — click their row to edit their registration if needed. Unregistered players appear without highlighting.
5. Click **Register This Person** for the player you want to add.
6. On the event selection screen, use the dropdown to switch each event from **Unselected** to **Selected**. Only events the player is eligible for will appear.
7. If an event is full, you'll see a notification and can place the player on the waitlist directly. Tournament Directors can also override capacity limits and place a player directly into a full event.
8. Set the **registration date** if needed — useful when entering a paper registration after the fact. The current date is selected by default.
9. Click the green **Next** button to continue and complete the registration.

> **Note:** If a player can't be found in search, try a different variation of their last name or search by email instead. If the tournament uses DUPR as the primary or secondary rating system, the player must have a linked DUPR account before they can be registered.

## Partner pre-selection

If another player has already selected this person as their partner, the event will show as **Selected** by default in the dropdown. You just need to confirm and proceed.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I add a player to a full event?

Yes. Tournament Directors can override event capacity limits and place a player directly into a full event. The full event status will be shown during event selection, and you'll have the option to override or add to the waitlist.

### What if the player doesn't have a Pickleball.com account?

The player must have a Pickleball.com account to be manually added. If they don't have one, they'll need to create an account first at pickleball.com before you can complete the registration.

### How do I record a registration that came in on paper?

Use the Registration Date field during event selection to enter the actual date the paper registration was received. The current date is pre-filled by default, so just update it to the correct date before proceeding.
