# Ladder League Player — How to Opt In or Out for a Game Day

In a Ladder League, you must [opt in](/72000649998-league-managers---opt-in-and-out-players) for each game day you plan to attend. You are not automatically included — opting in tells the [league manager](/72000638040-league-setup---creating-first-league-session) you'll be there so they can build accurate playing groups. This article covers how to opt in, opt out, and what to do if the game day is full.

## About opt-ins

The league manager sets the opt-in window for each game day — typically a date range starting a few days or a week before the game day. Some leagues open opt-ins for all game days at the start of the session; others limit the window to just a few days before each event.

The manager also sets a maximum number of players per game day. If the maximum is reached, additional players are prompted to join the waitlist. Waitlisted players are automatically moved in if an opt-out occurs before the waitlist lock time.

## How to opt in

1. Log in to your Pickleball.com account.
2. Select **Leagues**, then click **My Leagues** or **My Schedule**.
3. Click on the league you're registered in.
4. Find the upcoming game day and click the **Game Day** button.
5. Click **Opt In**. The display turns green when you're confirmed.

## How to opt out

1. Follow the same path to find the game day.
2. Click **Opt Out**. The display turns red.

> **Note:** Once the opt-in window locks, only a league manager can opt you out. Contact your league manager if you need to be removed after the lock.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### The game day is full — can I still join?

If the game day is full, you'll be prompted to join the waitlist. Waitlisted players are automatically moved in if an opt-out occurs before the waitlist lock time set by the league manager.

### I can't find the opt-in button — why?

The opt-in window is set by the league manager for each game day. If opt-ins aren't open yet, check back closer to the game day or contact your league manager to confirm the window.

### Can the league manager opt me in?

Yes. The league manager can opt players in or out themselves, depending on actual attendance on the day.
