Two common approaches:\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch3 id=\u0022let_teams_selfmanage\u0022\u003ELet teams self-manage\u003C/h3\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAfter verifying the events and assigning the first round of courts, teams can run the rest themselves \u2014 captains set lineups and enter scores from their own phones. The TD only steps in to make changes as needed and to verify medal rounds.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch3 id=\u0022run_it_manually\u0022\u003ERun it manually\u003C/h3\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA TD can also run a Team Event fully manually: print score sheets and hand them out to teams, who bring them back after playing. The TD then sets lineups and enters scores directly, rather than captains doing it themselves.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022recommended\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003ENote\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMost TDs land somewhere in between \u2014 for example, letting captains handle day-to-day lineups and scores, but manually verifying medal-round results.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Chr\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022assigning_courts_for_team_events\u0022\u003EAssigning courts for Team Events\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETeam Events don\u0027t use Court Desk yet \u2014 that support is coming later. For now, all court assignments for Team Events are manual: enter a court number directly on the matchup, or send a text to the team from Live Console.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022recommended\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003ENote\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOnce a team is sent to a court, they \u0022roll\u0022 themselves \u2014 staying on that same court for every match within the matchup. You only need to assign a new court between matchups, not between the individual matches inside one.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Chr\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022canceling_a_full_matchup\u0022\u003ECanceling a full matchup\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIf a full matchup needs to be canceled \u2014 for example, a bronze match both teams agree to skip, or later-round matchups in an MLP-style format that won\u0027t be played \u2014 don\u0027t cancel each individual match one by one. Canceling matches individually can hold up the bracket.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Col\u003E\u003Cli\u003EFrom the bracket admin view, open the matchup and click \u003Cb\u003EEdit Status\u003C/b\u003E.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESelect \u003Cb\u003ECancel Matchup\u003C/b\u003E.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EClick \u003Cb\u003ESave\u003C/b\u003E.\u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ol\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis cancels every match within that matchup at once and turns off the tiebreaker requirement, which then lets the bracket be completed and locked.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022recommended\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003E\u0026nbsp;Note\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis is a TD/admin-only action, reachable by anyone with Live Console access for the tournament. Team captains and players do not have an option to cancel a match or matchup themselves \u2014 direct them to contact you instead.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Chr\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022editing_a_lineup_after_its_been_saved\u0022\u003EEditing a lineup after it\u0027s been saved\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBy default, once a captain saves a lineup for a matchup, it\u0027s locked. An \u003Cb\u003EEdit Lineup\u003C/b\u003E option can appear on the score-entry screen (you may need to scroll to see it), but whether captains can use it depends on a setting that controls whether lineups can be edited after saving.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022warning\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003EWarning\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe exact setting name and location for controlling post-save lineup edits is still being confirmed \u2014 this section will be updated once verified. In the meantime, if a captain needs a lineup changed after saving, contact support or your account team.\u003C/p\u003E\u003C/cite\u003E\u003Chr\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022substituting_a_player_in_a_matchup\u0022\u003ESubstituting a player in a matchup\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIf a rostered player can\u0027t play a matchup, the substitute function lets you swap in a different player \u2014 without going through the roster Drop/Add process. This is a TD-only action; team captains cannot substitute players themselves.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhen choosing a substitute, you can search either players already registered for the tournament, or all players in the system \u2014 the substitute does not need to already be registered for your event.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ccite class=\u0022warning\u0022\u003E\u003Cspan class=\u0022title\u0022\u003EWarning\u003C/span\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe player picker doesn\u0027t show email address or DUPR rating, only names \u2014 so if there are multiple players with the same name (for example, two \u0022David Smith\u0022s), it can be hard to tell them apart. If your event allows free agents, removing a player this way also turns them into a free agent, which makes it hard to tell whether they meant to register as a free agent or were just bumped from a team.
