# How to Create Membership Plans for Your Club

Membership Plans let you charge members directly through your [Pickleball Clubs (PC)](https://www.pickleballclubs.com) club. You can create as many plans as you need, choosing from five billing types and setting your own pricing, visibility, and renewal rules for each.

By the end of this article, you'll know how to view your club's existing membership plans and create a new one in any of the five plan types.

> **Note:** Membership Plans is only available on Business and Enterprise fee plans. If your club is on Digital or Basic, see How to Choose a Fee Plan for Your Club to upgrade before setting up membership plans.

## Before You Begin

- You must be signed in as the primary manager, an Owner, or a manager with Can Edit Club permission.
- Decide on your plan's billing cadence, pricing, and whether it should be publicly visible before you start — you'll enter all of this in one form.

## Access Membership Plans

1. From your club dashboard, go to **Organizations** in the left menu, then click **Membership Plans**.
2. The **Membership Plans** table lists every existing plan, with its Plan Name, Status, Plan Description, Fee, and # of Members. Use the **Actions** menu next to a plan to manage it, or **Export** to download the list.
3. Click **+ Add New Plan** to create a new plan.

## Choose a plan type

Pickleball.com supports five plan types, each suited to a different billing cadence:

- **Monthly** — recurring, billed every month.
- **Quarterly** — recurring, billed every three months.
- **Annually** — recurring, billed once a year.
- **Non-Recurring** — a one-time charge that covers a fixed (or open-ended) membership period.
- **Day Pass** — a single-use pass with no renewal.

## Fill in Plan Info and Pricing

These fields appear the same way across all five plan types:

- **Plan Name** — up to 100 characters.
- **Plan Visibility** — choose whether the plan is Hidden or visible to members.
- **Show to Public (From/To)** — an optional date range controlling when the plan is publicly visible. Leave both blank if the plan should always display.
- **Initiation Fee** — a one-time fee charged when a member joins. Leave blank for no initiation fee.
- **Price** — the plan's price. Leave blank if the plan is free.
- **Tax Percentage** — the tax rate applied to the plan's price.

## Set renewal options

Renewal options are the one part of the form that changes based on the plan type you picked:

| Plan type | Renewal options |
| --- | --- |
| Monthly / Quarterly | Choose Fixed date (all members renew on the same day of the month, set from a dropdown) or Anniversary date (each member renews on the date they joined). You can also turn on Allow prorated billing and Minimum number of billing cycles. |
| Annually | Same Fixed date / Anniversary date choice, but Fixed date is set with a specific Select Renew Date field instead of a day-of-month dropdown. Allow prorated billing and Minimum number of billing cycles are also available. |
| Non-Recurring | No Fixed date / Anniversary date choice, since the plan doesn't renew. Instead, set a Plan Duration (From/To) — leave the end date blank for a plan that never expires. Allow prorated billing is still available. |
| Day Pass | No renewal options — a Day Pass is a single-use purchase with just Plan Info and Pricing. |

Once everything looks right, click **Save** to create the plan.

## FAQs

### What's the difference between Fixed date and Anniversary date renewal?

Fixed date bills every member on the same date — a day of the month for Monthly and Quarterly plans, or a specific date for Annual plans. Anniversary date bills each member individually, based on the date they joined.

### What happens if I leave Price blank?

The plan is free to join. You can still set an Initiation Fee even if the ongoing Price is blank.

### Can I hide a plan without deleting it?

Yes. Set Plan Visibility to Hidden, or use the Show to Public date range so the plan only appears publicly during a specific window.

### Can I edit a plan after members have joined it?

Yes. Use the Actions menu next to the plan in the Membership Plans table to make changes.

### If I raise my plan's price, what happens to members who join or renew around the change?

There's no way to schedule a price change for a future date — updating a plan's price takes effect as soon as you save it. Once changed, new members who join will pay the new price, and if a member's charge is prorated, the prorated amount is based on the new price as well.

### Can I change an existing plan from recurring to non-recurring (or vice versa)?

No. A plan's billing type can't be converted once members have joined it. Create a new membership plan with the billing type you want instead. Pickleball.com doesn't currently have a self-service way for clubs to migrate members from one plan to another — contact support@pickleball.com if you need existing members moved to a new plan.
