# How to Manage Your Club Sanction Requests

If your [Pickleball Clubs (PC)](https://www.pickleballclubs.com) club is a governing body, you can review and respond to sanction requests from tournament and team league organizers all in one place. Go to your organization menu and select **Sanctioning and Ratings** to see every pending, approved, and declined request together.

From there, you can approve, decline, or leave a request pending — with comments — without hunting through individual events.

## Before You Begin

- Sanctioning is only available to clubs designated as a **governing body**. It must be turned on for your club by a Pickleball.com admin — email [support@pickleball.com](mailto:support@pickleball.com) if your club is interested in becoming a sanctioning body.
- You must be signed in as the **primary manager**, an Owner, or a manager with **Can Edit Club** permission.

## What Sanctioning Is

Organizers running Team Leagues, Tournaments, and other events can request sanctioning approval from official governing bodies — like DUPR, Minor League Pickleball, LIFE TIME Pickleball, or your Club — directly from their event's own Sanction & Ratings tab. If your Club is set up as a governing body, those requests land in your Sanctioning and Ratings dashboard for you to review.

> **Note:** Sanctioning is turned on per Club by Pickleball.com — it isn't a setting you can enable yourself. Reach out to support if you'd like your Club considered as a sanctioning body.

## Access your Club's Sanctioning and Ratings tab

1. Log in to Pickleball.com and click **Manage** in the upper right corner.
2. Select **Organizations** and open your Club.
3. In your organization menu, scroll down to **Sanctioning and Ratings**.
4. This opens the **Sanctioned & Approved** view of all requests submitted to your Club.

## Review sanction requests

The Sanctioned & Approved view lets you browse every request submitted to your Club as a governing body:

- Use the **Event Type** dropdown to filter by product — for example, Team Leagues or Tournaments.
- Toggle **Show test events?** to Yes if you want test events included; it defaults to No.
- Use the tabs — **Pending**, **Approved**, **Declined**, and (for some event types) **Completed** — to browse requests by status.
- Each row shows the event title, date, and the organizer's name, phone, and email.

## Approve, decline, or comment on a request

1. From the Pending tab, click **View** next to the event you want to review.
2. You'll be brought right to the tournament or league page where you can approve or deny.
3. In the Sanction / Approval status window, select a **Status**: Approved, Pending, or Declined.
4. Add any notes in **Comments**.
5. Click **Save**.

The event moves to the matching tab (Approved or Declined) once you save your decision.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I get my Club set up as a sanctioning body?

Email support@pickleball.com. This is enabled per Club by a Pickleball.com admin — it isn't a self-service setting.

### How do organizers request sanctioning from my Club?

From their own event's Sanction & Ratings tab, organizers check a box for each governing body they want to request — including your Club, if you're set up as one — alongside options like DUPR VERIFIED, Minor League Pickleball, and LIFE TIME Pickleball.

### Can I change my decision after approving or declining a request?

Yes. Open the request from the Approved or Declined tab, click View, and update the Status.

### What does "Show test events?" do?

It controls whether test events appear in your list. It's set to No by default so test events don't clutter your real sanction requests.

### Why do some event types show a Completed tab and others don't?

Tabs vary slightly by event type. Tournaments, for example, add a Completed tab and a Level column, since tournaments have levels and a defined end date that team leagues don't track the same way.
