Sportswear and athleisure brand, FILA, recently launched a new collection with Hailey Bieber and it is absolutely gorgeous. Featuring trending colors like yellow and emerald green, this collection is classic sporty FILA paired with Bieber’s model off-duty fabulousness. 

This partnership was unexpected, but led to a show-stopping result.  

Bieber is a model, mom, and lover of all things fashion. And after posting a photo of herself in a vintage cherry red FILA sweater vest, her 54.6 million followers wanted one of their own.

“The FILA partnership came about so organically because I purchased this vintage FILA sweater vest. I tailored it, made it short, cropped, and tight. I posted a picture in it and people were contacting FILA asking where they could buy it, but it was a vintage piece that was one of one that I’d also completely altered. That prompted FILA to reach out to me, and it sprouted this very organic partnership from there,” Bieber shared, in a behind-the-scenes video on her YouTube channel.

This partnership marked Bieber’s first time designing a collection with FILA, and she was very hands on with the creative direction and design process. With Bieber’s vision, the FILA X Hailey is a cohesive mix of athleisure pieces you can easily style as streetwear. It’s multifunctional and fashion forward. 

“For me, it’s things you can wear to the gym, over your workout stuff, and tops that you could wear with jeans,” Bieber explained. “I really enjoy being able to take athleisure to the street. I think there’s no limits with what is authentic to you and your personal style.”

Tapping into nostalgia was one of Bieber’s biggest priorities for the collection. 

“FILA already has that nostalgic feel to it, so I loved tapping back into that nostalgia, the tennis, the sportiness of it all,” she said. 

She also prioritized the idea of a shared wardrobe where it feels like you’re wearing your boyfriend’s oversized jacket or hoodie that you then styled with a cute little tennis skirt or biker shorts. 

After all, this collection is a reflection of Bieber’s life, and she mentioned that she's always stealing clothes from her husband, Justin Bieber.  

“I feel like the collection is super unisex and I wanted it to feel like there’s something for everyone. I love for things to feel like a shared wardrobe where you can steal from your boyfriends or girlfriends closet because that’s how my life is. I share so many clothes with my husband,” said Bieber. 

“I always remember when you’re dating someone and you borrow their hoodie and you never want to give it back because it fits you so well or it smells like them. I think there’s a nostalgia and a feeling to this kind of shared wardrobe feeling,” she continued. 

Bieber also wanted the collection to be easily interchangeable, where you can easily style the pieces with one another and mix and match. That's why we see pops of yellow, gray, and green throughout the collection to add uniformity. 

“Everything is cute, sporty, comfy and cozy. I go off my personal basics and the things I think are must-haves in my wardrobe. I like a sweater for the summer, and I’m such a baby tee shirt girl and I love a little tank top. Those are kind of staples for me for the spring and summer,” she said. 

Bieber is so proud of her collection, and I genuinely hope this isn’t the last we see from this partnership. It’s versatile, nostalgic, and classic FILA country club chic with pieces Bieber wears during her day-to-day life. 

“If I wouldn’t wear it, I don’t want to put it out into the world,” she concluded.
