Duong raising funds to help those affected by Super Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam

Quang Duong’s love for his ancestral homeland of Vietnam is beyond measure.

That’s why he’s helping those affected by Super Typhoon Yagi, which made landfall in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong City on Sept. 7.

According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Yagi is "one of the strongest storms to hit Vietnam in three decades, has left a trail of destruction, and continues to threaten the lives of millions across northern and central parts of the country."

Duong took to Instagram earlier this week to share his initial plan of action.

The 18-year-old confirmed that he is donating $10,000 (USD) to the Vietnam Red Cross Society or a Vietnamese government disaster relief organization.

He also encourgaed major entities in the pickleball world to provide matching donations, and offered to lead clincs at pickleball clubs in exchange for matching donations as well.

On Saturday, Duong confirmed via Instagram that he would post a variety of pickleball "super tips" like these to encourage donations.

The first post, which also features his brother, Bao, is recorded entirely in Vietnamese.

This is the second post.

It was recorded entirely in Vietnamese as well.

He also shared account information for those interested in sending international money transfers to the relief effort.

Account Name: Mặt trận Tổ quốc Việt Nam - Ban Cứu trợ Trung ương
Account Number: 001.1.37.193253.8

Duong asked that you write "Pickleball with QuangDuong" in the comments section of the transfer with your individual name or company name.
