And after an 11-7, 11-7 victory over Catherine Parenteau on Wednesday, she’s two wins away from doing the same in 2025.

Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup was a familiar one for the No. 3 seed, since she and Parenteau also squared off at the Orange County Cup in June.

Parenteau won that semifinal encounter by an 11-6, 12-10 score line, but Buckner turned the tide in Tennessee with a barrage of powerful drives that helped her dictate points from the baseline.

“Catherine’s been playing some great singles. She beat me in San Clemente, and every time I play her, it’s a battle,” Buckner said afterwards. “I know she’s going to fight. She’s crafty, she’s super athletic, and I was just really fortunate to execute. I had James [Delgado] and Zoey [Wang] giving me some great coaching tips on the side, and I was able to come away with a W.”

No. 2 seed Parris Todd awaits Buckner in Saturday’s semifinal round.
