How to Configure Checkout Options, Discounts, Sponsors, and Managers in PL
After completing Basic Info, the next steps in league setup cover how players pay, discount codes, sponsors, and managers. This article walks through each of those sections.
Checkout Options
Checkout Options controls how players pay when registering. You can enable one or both options:
| Option | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Players pay online by credit card at registration. Requires Stripe to be set up in your Club first. |
| Onsite Payment | Players register without paying upfront. Use this when you collect payment in person. |
If more than one checkout option is enabled, players can choose their preferred payment method during registration. Currently PL offers only these two checkout options.
Discounts
Discount codes let you reduce registration fees for specific players or groups. Each code is unique and can be scoped by usage limit and date range.
- Click the + icon to add a new discount code.
- Title — give the code a label (shown in your discount code list).
- Code — the system generates a random code or you can type your own.
- Discount Amount — the dollar value off registration (must be a positive number).
- Number Issued — limit how many times the code can be used. Leave blank for unlimited.
- Date Active — set a date range for the code to be valid.
- Click Save.
Sponsors
Add sponsors to your league listing. Sponsor logos and links appear on your public league page.
- Sponsor Level — Title Sponsor, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Tour.
- Logo Upload — 468 × 351 px, PNG/JPG/JPEG only.
- Title — the sponsor's name.
- URL — the sponsor's website. Players who click the logo are directed here.
- Tagline — optional advertising slogan displayed below the sponsor name.
- Click Save Sponsor.
Managers
A league can have multiple managers but only one Primary Manager. Only the Primary Manager can add or remove other managers.
- Click Add New.
- Search by last name. The person must have a Pickleball.com account.
- Select the correct person (verify by email/phone).
- Assign their permissions.
- Click Save — permissions won't save without this step.
Always click Save after assigning manager permissions. If you navigate away without saving, the permissions will not be applied.
Frequently asked questions
Stripe isn't showing as an option — why?
Set up Stripe first in your Club's organization settings. Once Stripe is active for your Club, you can activate it as a checkout option in any league under that Club.
Can I have two Primary Managers?
No. Only one person can be the Primary Manager. All others are assigned varying permission levels based on their role.
