How to Message Players in PL
The Messages feature in Pickleball Leagues (PL) lets you email or text players in your current session. Use it to communicate game day reminders, schedule updates, and league announcements.
How to email players
- From the League Menu, click Messages.
- Click Add a Campaign.
- Enter a Campaign Title — this is your internal label for tracking what you've sent.
- Enter the Reply to Email and From Name — players will see this name and can reply to the email address you provide.
- Optionally, select a Session to limit the email to players registered in a specific session.
- Optionally, select a Type to filter recipients by criteria (e.g. opted-in players only).
- Set the Date & Time to Send.
- Toggle Ready to Send as Scheduled to Yes when you're ready to queue it — the email won't send without this.
- Click the Email Templates tab.
- Enter your subject line and compose the email body.
- To preview, enter an email address and click Send Test.
The email will not send unless Ready to Send as Scheduled is set to Yes. Always confirm this before saving.
How to text players on game day
You can send a text message directly from the game day screen to players who are opted in or not opted in:
- On the game day screen, click Send Message.
- Select which player type to message: Playing and/or Not Playing.
- Enter your message text and send.
Text messaging must be enabled in your session settings (Activate Player Text) for this feature to be available. Additional per-text fees apply.
Frequently asked questions
My email campaign didn't send — what should I check?
Make sure Ready to Send as Scheduled is set to Yes before saving. Without this, the campaign is saved but not queued to send.
I don't see the option to text players — why?
Text messaging requires Activate Player Text to be turned on in your session settings. If you don't see the Send Message option, check your session configuration.
Can I delete or recall a message after it's sent?
No. Once an email campaign has sent or a text message has gone out, it can't be recalled or deleted from a player's inbox or phone. Double-check your content before toggling Ready to Send as Scheduled to Yes, or before clicking Send Message on the game day screen.
