How to Edit Your Pickleball Profile
Your Pickleball.com profile is your public identity in the pickleball community. From the Edit Profile section, you can update your contact information, physical attributes, playing details, profile photo, and public visibility settings. Most profile changes take effect immediately.
How to access your profile settings
- Log in to pickleball.com.
- Click your name in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select My Profile from the dropdown menu.
- On your profile page, click the Edit Profile button.
The Edit Profile section contains several areas you can customize. Each is covered below.
How to upload or change your profile photo
Your profile photo helps other players and tournament directors recognize you. To add or update your photo:
- From your profile page, click the + (plus) icon next to your current photo or placeholder image.
- Select a photo file from your device.
- Click Submit to send the image for review.
Photos go through a brief approval process before they appear on your profile. To be approved, your photo must meet these requirements:
- Must be a photo of you (not someone else, a pet, or a group)
- Head and shoulders clearly visible
- No sunglasses (prescription glasses are fine)
- Preferably no hats
- Only you in the picture — no other people, children, or pets
- No AI-generated images, cartoon avatars, emojis, or logos
- No graphic tees with prominent text or imagery
Photos that don't meet these requirements will be declined. If your photo is declined, upload a new one that follows the guidelines above. For a detailed walkthrough of the approval process, see Profile Image Approval Guide.
How to update your contact information
In the Edit Profile section, you can update your:
- Email address — used for account communications and sign-in (if you created your account with email)
- Phone number — used for mobile sign-in and text notifications
- Address — used to recommend nearby tournaments, leagues, and clubs
Keep your phone number current and make sure texting is enabled. Many tournaments use text messages for court assignments, schedule updates, and score notifications. If texting is off, you may miss time-sensitive information on tournament day.
How to update your physical attributes and playing details
Your physical attributes and playing details help the platform match you to appropriate events and give other players context about your game. Fields you can update include:
- Date of birth — used for age bracket placement in tournaments. Make sure this is accurate, as it directly affects which events you're eligible for.
- Gender — used for event eligibility (men's, women's, and mixed doubles brackets)
- Dominant hand — left or right
- Height and weight — optional, visible on your public profile if you choose to display them
How to set your self-rating
Your self-rating indicates your skill level and affects which tournament brackets and league divisions you can register for. To set or update it, scroll to the Self rating field in your Edit Profile section and select your level from the dropdown.
If you also have a DUPR rating connected to your profile, the platform uses the higher of your self-rating and DUPR rating to determine event eligibility. For example, if your DUPR rating is 3.6 but your self-rating is set to 4.0, the system uses 4.0 — meaning you can't register for brackets below 4.0 unless you lower your self-rating.
NoteYou can change your self-rating anytime. If you're new to pickleball and unsure of your level, start with a lower rating and adjust upward as your game develops.
How to manage your social links and emergency contact
Your Edit Profile section also includes optional fields for:
- Social media links — connect your Instagram, Facebook, or other profiles so other players can find you
- Emergency contact — a name and phone number that tournament directors can reach in case of an emergency during an event
Both are optional but recommended, especially the emergency contact if you play in tournaments regularly.
How to control what's visible on your public profile
Your profile has both public and private elements. Other players can see your name, photo, ratings, and play history by default. To control what's visible:
- In your Edit Profile section, look for visibility or privacy toggles for each field
- Fields marked as public will appear when other players view your profile
- Fields marked as private are visible only to you
For a detailed breakdown of what other players can and can't see, see Public vs Private Visibility on Your Profile.
