Yes. Any player can be a sub — they don't need to be a registered league member. However, you are responsible for finding your own sub. The league manager cannot source subs for individual groups.
In a Flex League, you are automatically opted in to all game days when you register for the session. You don't need to opt in each week — but you do need to opt out if you can't attend, and you can sub in a replacement player if your group of 4 is short.
Players can opt themselves out of a week's game day from any group of 5 or more. Other players in the group can also opt someone out if they don't show up. This re-configures the group so matches can still take place.
Opting a player out from a group of 5 or 6 deletes them from that week and re-creates the playing group without them. This cannot be undone — the player would need to be manually re-added by the league manager if opted out in error.
If your group has 4 players and one doesn't show up, you can sub in a replacement. Subs can be anyone — they don't have to be registered in the league. You must find your own sub; the league manager cannot provide names.
Scores for subs do not count toward ladder standings. If no sub is available and the group cannot play, matches are automatically cancelled at the end of the week.

Scores for subs do not count toward ladder standings for either the sub or the player being replaced. Only registered session players accumulate standings.
