What Are The World Pickleball Rankings (WPR)?

The World Pickleball Ranking (WPR) is the Carvana PPA Tour's official professional ranking system — and this season marks its launch as the first system built to identify the best overall players on the planet. Rather than measuring performance in a single event or discipline, WPR combines each professional player’s results across all three disciplines into one unified, global ranking.

    How the Professional Rankings Work

WPR is built to capture the full picture of a professional player’s competitive performance. Each player’s ranking is determined by combining results across three disciplines — gender doubles (weighted at 50%), mixed doubles (35%), and singles (15%) — drawing from a player’s best 14 results over the past 52 weeks. Every PPA event worldwide feeds the same point system, so no matter where a player competes on the PPA Tour, it counts toward the same global ranking. It’s a clearer, more credible way to tell the story of who the best players really are.

    Note

For the full details on the ranking system and this season’s format, review the How Professional Pickleball Works guide at ppatour.com.

Why WPR Matters for Professional Players

    • Built for professional competition: WPR is the official ranking system for professional pickleball players, designed to reflect the full scope of a professional’s performance across all three disciplines.
    • Built on every PPA event worldwide: No matter where a professional player competes, those results feed the same point system — making WPR a true reflection of global performance, not just a snapshot from a single event or region.
    • A clearer, more credible picture: By combining performance across three disciplines with weighted scoring and drawing from a player’s best results over a rolling 52-week window, WPR tells a fuller, more accurate story of who the best players are.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is World Pickleball Rankings the same as DUPR?

No — WPR is the PPA Tour's own professional ranking system, separate from DUPR. Both track player results and provide a way to measure competitive standing, but they are independent systems with different methodologies.

Is World Pickleball Rankings for professional players only?

Yes — WPR is the PPA Tour's professional ranking system. Amateur and recreational player rankings will be tracked through a separate system called Amateur Pickleball Rankings (APR).
