How to Set Up a Traditional League in PL

This article covers how to run a Traditional League game day in Pickleball Leagues (PL) — viewing matches, entering scores, handling subs and swaps, and completing the league schedule.

Step 1 — View the game day matches

Traditional League matches are pre-scheduled — there's no opt-in or group setup required. Click the game day from All Session Game Days in the League Menu to see the matches scheduled for that day.

    Step 2 — Enter scores

    1. Click each match to open the score entry screen.
    2. Click each score circle and enter the number.
    3. Click Save Scores.
    4. If a match was not played, click Cancel Game — this is required to complete the game day.

Step 3 — Handle subs and player swaps

Substituting a player for one game day

    1. Click Sub Player for the match where the player needs a sub, before scores are entered.
    2. Click Sub Player for the player being removed.
    3. "SUB for..." will appear next to the player's name for that game.
    4. Repeat for each game the player needs a substitute.

    Swapping a player permanently

    1. Go to Session Players in the League Menu.
    2. Click the Swap Player button.
    3. Click the player you want to swap out.
    4. Search for the replacement player and select them.
    5. Click Swap.

Step 4 — Complete the league

For Traditional Leagues, you complete the entire league rather than individual game days. Once all matches across the full schedule have scores or have been cancelled:

    1. Click Complete League.
    2. Scores for each individual game day lock automatically after 24 hours.
    Warning

Complete League locks in all standings and ends the session. Make sure all scores are correct before clicking it.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I correct a score after the game day?

Game day scores lock after 24 hours automatically. If you need to correct a score within that window, open the match and re-enter the score. After 24 hours, contact support@pickleball.com.

What's the difference between Sub Player and Swap Player?

Use the Sub Player button before scores are entered for that match. For a permanent replacement across all remaining game days, use Swap Player in Session Players.
