Black Bears pick up French to replace Young
DALLAS, TX - The California Black Bears said goodbye to their (former) team captain D.J. Young and have opted to replace him with Brandon French.
It’s an unfortunate situation for both parties, as Young never even got a chance to take the court for California; a wrist injury sidelined him during MLP D.C., and it seems like that injury will sideline him long enough to warrant dropping him off the full-time roster.
French will join forces with Susannah Barr (who California picked up to replace Emily Cederquist earlier Friday), Amanda Hendry, and Rafa Hewett.
The Black Bears have their work cut out for them to make the playoffs after going 1-6 in their opening event.
We’ll see if their actions on Friday help them get closer to achieving that goal.
