Building the perfect pickleball date night
DALLAS, TX – Love is in the air and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.
Fellas, it’s time to buy that mushy card and order your roses.
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Wednesday, so if you’re stuck at work, have kids to care for, or your schedule is simply jammed, you might not have much time to celebrate the most romantic holiday of the year with your special someone.
That’s where pickleball comes in.
Why pickleball is the best date night
A pickleball date night can be the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. Playing America's fastest-growing sport with your partner can be as wonderful of a date option as visiting any fancy steakhouse or enjoying a romantic movie marathon because when you plan a pickleball date, you get some exercise and quality time with your partner, too.
You get to work together, laugh, and enjoy each other's company with those spicy rallies and lobs. And, if you team up for mixed doubles, you can practice your communication and love language.
A pickleball date won't break the bank either. Other than reserving a court, it's a free activity.
Here are some helpful tips for planning.
Dress in your pickleball best
Wear anything pink, red, or white, especially if it makes you feel like a million bucks. Date night fits don’t have to be ballgowns. I know I speak for the ladies, but sometimes I feel way cuter in athleisure instead of my fanciest outfits.
Or, you can color coordinate your outfits with your partner to look like the dynamic duo you are.
Pick a court that feels just right
Maybe visit a new court you’ve been wanting to go to but haven’t found the time, or try an indoor court near you that’s been on your list. Pickleball date night at a new court can be the best way to spice up your partnership.
Go to the court in the park that overlooks a lake, or go before sunset so you and your partner can play with a beautiful backdrop.
Have a pickleball afterparty
The night doesn’t have to end after the final match point has been played. You can plan ahead and pack a picnic. Find a romantic spot to eat in your local park. Time it right, and you could watch the sunset, too. Share sweet pickleball nothings and maybe some chocolate-covered strawberries.
All of this chatter about pickleball dates is making me swoon. Cupid’s arrow is sure to strike on the court.
