Life is Good adds pickleball to the mix

DALLAS, TX – Another beloved activewear and lifestyle brand has officially entered the picklesphere.

Founded in 1994, the Life is Good brand is best known for optimistic designs that feature their smiling stick figure character, Jake, spreading joy and positivity.

Jake has been depicted playing and participating in a wide variety of games, sports, activities, and hobbies. From gardening to mountain climbing, fishing, and cheerleading, Jake is truly a jack of all trades. It was only a matter of time before he picked up a paddle and hit the pickleball court.

When asked why Life is Good added pickleball into their repertoire, Linne Kimball, the vice president of strategic partnerships, had this to say:

“It lines up really well with our superpowers of fun, humor, openness, and simplicity. The majority of players love the sport because it brings them joy, connects them to their community, and keeps them moving, healthy, and fit,” explained Kimball. “Our customers enjoy an active lifestyle, and for 30 years our graphics have celebrated many sports, both individual and team. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the US for a reason. It appeals to all ages, and it’s fun and accessible.”

Behind the scenes at Life is Good, many of their team members are pickleball players themselves.

The sport clearly aligns with their brand identity of spreading positive vibes and active lifestyles.

“Our graphic tees are the primary vehicle by which we spread the power of optimism. Our customers have embraced our pickleball-themed tees in a number of different art styles. Through a partnership with Fit4Life, we have also developed Life is Good pickleball paddle sets. The paddle, like a T-shirt, provides a great canvas for our positive art and message, and allows us to deepen our brand’s connection to those who love this sport,” said Kimball.

I, of course, had to get a closer look at some of these pickleball goodies. As a long-time fan of the brand, the day I found out they released pickleball gear was a good day for me. I can personally attest to the comfort and quality of their T-shirts and hats.

Among the highlights of the collection are the “Play more, worry less'' T-shirt depicting Jake and his dog playing pickleball, as well as the cropped green pickleballer tee

They’ve even developed a set of wooden paddles and matching balls perfect for a leisure game of pickleball with beginners and new friends.

“We use our Life is Good superpowers as brand filters when designing new graphics, so they promote humor, fun, love, openness, simplicity, creativity, authenticity, gratitude, compassion, and courage. We want our art and message to resonate with a wide range of consumers to spread the power of optimism and inspire a positive lifestyle,” shared Lexy Robinson, the senior design manager at Life is Good.

Life is Good even offers designs featuring memorable characters like Winnie-the-Pooh playing pickleball and Mickey Mouse holding a paddle with the caption: “While the cats are away the mice will play.”

“We design into different art styles like vintage, groovy, and quick to name a few. We have a cast of characters that we have a lot of fun with. We incorporate these characters into the activities that we know our consumers love – like playing pickleball,” said Robinson.

Life is Good is driven by the power of optimism, joy, and passion, and I’m so happy pickleball has been added to their list.
