Todd, David make a strong duo in women’s doubles
ROCKWALL, TX – Vivienne David and Parris Todd make a strong duo on the pro women’s doubles pickleball court. Seeded at No. 6, Todd and David are superstars in their own rights, but paired up, they make for an exciting doubles pair up.
Today, they faced the formidable opponent in the round of 16, the No. 10 seeded, Lea Jansen and Alix Troung.
The final score was 11-9, 11-1.
“[David] is always smiling. It keeps me light on my toes and honestly, any mistakes either of us make, it’s okay because we’re both making mistakes out here and she just makes me feel like I have freedom in a partnership. Also, we’re friends off the court so that helps so we get to practice together,” said Todd.
The two are also teammates on the MLP Team, the Orlando Squeeze.
David also played on the left side for this partnership which is unusual for David, but quickly proved to be a success.
“It’s fun playing the left side. It’s new and you see the court a little differently. I’m able to potentially grab a more forehand – and I like the forehand dink,” said David.
Up next, they face off against the No. 2 seeds, Etta Wright and Meghan Dizon in the quarter finals.
“They’re a great team, they have really good hands so it’s going to be a really good test for us. We’re just going to keep playing out games, smiling, and hoping it goes well for us,” said Todd.
