Club ratings in Pickleball Clubs (PC) are a skill-based ranking system calculated exclusively from match results played on any pickleball.com platform (Pickleball Tournaments, Pickleball Leagues and Pickleball Team Leagues). They are entirely separate from DUPR and self-rating, and only reflect how players perform against each other within your specific club's ecosystem.
Club ratings track player skill over time using results from tournament or league play logged within your club. Rather than comparing players across the broader pickleball community, they measure performance against the players in your own club — making them especially useful for established clubs that want accurate, context-specific skill tracking.
Club Ratings are available on Business and Enterprise plans only — they are not included in the Digital or Basic plans. The fee is $0.10 per active member per month, so your total cost scales with the size of your active membership.

Club ratings (sometimes referred to as PBR) is calculated based on the following areas: match outcomes, point differentials, probability, reliability factor, and the relative strength of all players in the matches logged in Pickleball.com products like Pickleball Tournaments (PT), Pickleball Leagues (PL), or Pickleball Team Leagues (PTL).
NoteA club can specify the starting point for club ratings by pulling from self-ratings or DUPR ratings and then can manually adjust those by player if choose to.
Club Ratings analyze how many points you win or lose relative to what is expected, based on your opponents' current ratings. Beating a higher-rated player moves your rating up more than beating a lower-rated one. Losing to a lower-rated player drops your rating more than losing to a higher-rated one.
The exact score and margin of victory heavily influence how much your rating moves. Club Ratings don't just track wins and losses — it tracks how decisively you won or lost. This is expressed as PD%, your cumulative point differential divided by the maximum possible points from the games in a match.
For example, in a bracket where 7 games are played to 11 points, the maximum possible points total 77. Each player's PD% is their cumulative point differential divided by 77. A higher PD% means a player won their matches more decisively relative to others with the same win-loss record, which is why PD% is sometimes used as a tiebreaker when ranking players in bracket results.
Club ratings and DUPR serve different purposes and are not interchangeable:
When configured as the Club Rating ranking type in your league session, players are seeded and ranked based entirely on their club rating. This is the most skill-accurate ranking type for established clubs, because it reflects actual head-to-head performance within your specific format and court conditions — not against the broader DUPR population.
Your club rating is calculated exclusively from match results played within your club's programs using Pickleball.com products (tournaments, leagues, etc.). It only reflects how you perform against players in your specific club. DUPR is a universal rating that factors in results from all types of tournaments and leagues across the broader pickleball community and softwares, not just Pickleball.com products. The two ratings are entirely separate and one does not affect the other.
Club ratings work best once players have built up some match history. For a brand new league with no prior game history, running at least 1-2 King of the Court (KOTC) sessions will keep play competitive but also get solid ratings. Using it too early — before enough matches have been played — may result in ratings that don't yet accurately represent skill levels.
Two things must be in place for club ratings to calculate: .Count Games Toward Club Ratings must be enabled in your tournament, league and/or team league settings, and your club must be on a Business or Enterprise plan with Club Ratings active. If either is missing, ratings won't update. Check your session settings and plan status, or contact support@pickleball.com if you need help.
A good way to get a club ratings is to consistently run at least 1-2 King of the Court (KOTC) sessions to keep play competitive but also get a solid ratings.
