How Billing Works on Pickleball.com
Pickleball.com bills fees separately for each product you manage — Clubs, Leagues, Pickleball Tournaments (PT), and Pickleball Team Leagues (PTL). Each product has its own invoice location, billing schedule, and payment method. This article gives a quick overview; for full details on your product's fees and payment setup, see the guide linked in each row below.
Where to Find Your Invoices
Each product manages its own fees in a different area of your admin dashboard.
| Product | Invoice location | When fees are due |
|---|---|---|
| Club fees | Financials section in your Club admin area | Monthly — due on the 1st of each month |
| League fees | Red navigation item in your Club admin area | Monthly — due on the 1st of each month |
| Tournament fees | Dashboard in your Tournament admin area | After the tournament is completed and locked |
| Team League fees | Financials section in your Team League admin area | Monthly — due on the 1st of each month |
Types of Fees You May See
Depending on the product and how you're charging players, you may see any of these fee types on an invoice or a player's checkout:
- Registration Service Fee — the standard term across Tournaments, Leagues, and Team Leagues for the platform's per-player or per-team service charge.
- Merchant Processing Fee (Merchant Fee) — payment gateway / credit card processing costs (e.g., Stripe or PayPal), tracked and optionally passed through to the payer at checkout.
- Base Fee — a flat dollar amount added to registrations alongside percentage-based service fees.
- Application Fee (App Fee) — Pickleball.com's platform revenue share, deducted from the transaction.
- Dispute Fee — a charge incurred from a credit card payment dispute or chargeback.
How Payments Are Processed
Each product can have its own payment method. On the 1st of each month, any accumulated fees are charged automatically to that product's payment method.
If a product does not have its own payment method, its fees roll up to your organization's (Club's) payment method. That payment method is charged automatically on the 1st for all outstanding fees across every product that doesn't have its own payment method on file.
WarningIf fees are not paid, Pickleball.com can disable your events and revoke access to your account until all outstanding fees are resolved.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if a product doesn't have its own payment method?
Its fees roll up to your organization's (Club's) payment method, which is charged automatically on the 1st of the month for all outstanding fees.
What happens if fees aren't paid?
Pickleball.com can disable your events and revoke access to your account until all outstanding fees are resolved. Make sure each product has a valid payment method on file — or that your organization's payment method is current — to avoid service interruptions.
What's the difference between the Registration Service Fee and the Merchant Processing Fee?
The Registration Service Fee is Pickleball.com's platform charge for using the product. The Merchant Processing Fee is separate — it's the cost of running the payment through a card processor like Stripe or PayPal, and applies regardless of which platform you use.
