Prepared and consistent: Parenteau, Waters win gold at the CIBC Texas Open
ROCKWALL, TX – Catherine Parenteau and Anna Leigh Waters continue to prove why they’re the No. 1 seed in women’s doubles. Truly, they’re just unstoppable and they make pro pickleball look easy.
On the Humana Championship Court, Parenteau and Waters went head-to-head with Lucy Kovalova and Callie Smith, the third seed.
And despite the fight to the finish mentality from all the women on the court, Waters and Parenteau came out on top, winning in a swift three game match.
11-3, 11-3, 11-4 was the final score.
It’s no secret that not only are these two ladies dominating forces on the court, they’re also good friends, often boasting their tight bond and friendship on and off the pickleball court. Which makes every victory that much sweeter.
In 2024, Parenteau and Waters won five titles in women’s doubles, 17 in total for this partnership. When asked what makes this pair up truly the best in the game, Parenteau had this to say:
“It’s all about preparation. You have to do the right things in between tournaments. If you want to stay on top of the game, you have to do everything on a consistent basis. You cannot go and take a lot of days off, and say to yourself ‘Okay, we just won a tournament so we can relax for a couple of days.’ – No. You have to work hard and stay super consistent and check all the boxes, every week, day in and day out,” said Parenteau.
“And when you’re prepared, that’s when you’re dangerous because you have the confidence to rely on your preparation,” said Parenteau.
