Building a pro pickleball apparel partnership: Parris Todd × Alo
Parris Todd is among the select few professional players with an exclusive apparel sponsorship, and whenever she takes the court, she’s outfitted head-to-toe in Alo.
As a leading name in athleticwear, Alo perfectly complements Todd’s polished, confident presence because she always looks sharp, effortless, and game-ready.
“I really liked to wear a different outfit every tournament, which was actually the same when I played junior tennis,” shared Todd. “A lot of people said I was the best dressed player and my parents always got me the new Nike outfits, so nothing has really changed coming from tennis to pickleball.”
When Todd began her pro pickleball career, she had just as much fun experimenting with her on-court fashion.
“I was wearing a lot of Alo before. I just loved the brand,” praised Todd. “The owner saw an Instagram post I made during PPA San Clemente. I had beaten Anna Leigh [Waters] in the finals, and I posted in this all-blue Alo outfit. The owner DM’d me and wanted to meet with me in their offices in LA. It didn’t seem real at the time because it was so random and out of the blue.”
Just a few weeks after Todd visited those offices, she was officially sponsored by Alo.
Todd has kept her ambition for unveiling a new outfit at nearly every tournament alive.
After so many fun looks, choosing a favorite feels impossible—though a few definitely stand out.
“Alo comes out with so many new collections. They’re dropping about two new colors a month,” she mentioned. “The yellow [Hurricane Tyra Black] and I just wore, I really loved. I also loved the dusty rose pink color a few years ago.”
Todd also shared that she prefers playing in skirts and dresses rather than shorts.
“I may wear shorts to practice, but I feel like it’s more elegant and girly to wear skirts and dresses to a tournament,” she said.
Currently, she’s embracing pastels as the spring season approaches.
“I’m really liking pastels and those lighter colors, so it’s not too bright or too in your face,” she noted. “It’s just cute, under the radar, and elegant.”
As one of pickleball’s most fashionable stars, Todd also shared her tips for elevating anyone’s court style.
“Everyone’s style is different, so I think it’s cool to see people put their own flare on different pairings and colorways. I do like the all-monochromatic look. I’ve also been liking when people wear a dark purple top and light purple bottom. Wearing a darker color and a lighter color in the same pallet is really pretty,” she explained. “There’s so many cool brands and good options for activewear, so find a brand that fits your body type because it’s not one size fits all. It’s more what brand you resonate with and feel most comfortable in.”
