Chicken N Pickle’s Holiday Hideaway is a Hallmark holiday movie dream
Chicken N Pickle locations across the US have decked the halls to create the ultimate Christmas pickle experience with a pop-up holiday bar.
And the vibes are legitimately straight out of my favorite Christmas movies because it’s nothing but a Christmas spectacular.
With a cozy log cabin feel, the Holiday Hideaway offers outdoor firepits, tons of Christmas decorations, and even igloos you can reserve to sip, pickle, and be merry. Select locations also have an ice rink.
Even more jolly, they have seasonal cocktails with glitter, toasted marshmallows, build-your-own spiked hot chocolate, and even a hot toddy drink called “You sit on a throne of lies.”
You can even get all three martini flavors served in a shot ski flight. That's my definition of après-pickle.
I can see the Chicken N Pickle holiday movie now… The big city girl named Holly, who’s a tennis player, returns home to Wichita, KS where her pickleball-obsessed parents live.
Holly, of course, hates pickleball and Christmas. She’s a marketing manager who turned into a Grinch because she didn't get a Christmas bonus at work. Her cheerful parents drag her kicking and screaming to Chicken N Pickle, where they put a Selkirk paddle in her hand and hit the court together.
But, uh oh. They need a fourth for a proper match. Lucky for them, a familiar face is already there for open play. It’s Holly’s first love, Nick, who decided to stay in Wichita to be a lumberjack and take care of his elderly grandma while she left town.
The two lock eyes and Holly’s parents wave him over. After a few games where Holly learns the true meaning of pickleball, her parents decide to conveniently go home while Nick offers to buy Holly a drink upstairs at the Holiday Hideaway.
After sipping on a Tipsy Elf drink, the pair rekindle their old flame and decide to hit the ice skating rink hand-in-hand under the twinkling Christmas lights as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” plays softly in the background.
Then, they look up to see they’ve stopped under a mistletoe. Convenient, right?
Holly returns to her parents' house full of Christmas cheer. And she decides that her employer doesn’t appreciate her, so she quits and moves back to Wichita to work at Chicken N Pickle and marry her one true love, Nick.
The end.
Now excuse me while I head out to my nearest Chicken N Pickle so I can witness the true magic of pickleball holiday cheer.
