Hollywood stars Billie Eilish, Angelina Jolie play pickleball for a cause

A handful of Hollywood stars hit the pickleball court over the weekend for a good cause.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Billie Eilish and her brother FINNEAS participated in a charity event for Support + Feed, their mother’s nonprofit focused on raising awareness around food insecurity and environmental issues. The event featured backyard-style competitions like cornhole before wrapping up with a pickleball tournament.

Held at PIKL Los Angeles, the night drew a star-studded group of participants. Actors Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, both known pickleball enthusiasts, were in attendance, along with Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie.

FINNEAS was joined by his fiancée, actress and influencer Claudia Sulewski. Other notable competitors included Jolie’s son Paz, Melanie C, and Zane Lowe.

While the celebrity lineup brought plenty of attention, it was two rising pickleball standouts who claimed the title. Twin brothers Ford and Boone Casady, multiple-time Junior PPA gold medalists, took home the tournament win.

While Eilish wasn’t exactly auditioning for the pro tour, she looked completely at home on the court, smiling in just about every photo from the event.

You could tell pretty quickly who had at least some pickleball experience based on their gear and outfit choices. Eilish kept it practical and court-ready, pairing a black tank top with Gallery Dept. basketball shorts and sneakers, and even playing with a Selkirk paddle.

Jolie, on the other hand, looked like she had stepped out for a chic vacation rather than a pickleball match. She wore a black silk tank and trousers with boots, topped off by a floppy sunhat. Stylish? Absolutely. Court-appropriate? Not quite.

Maybe she planned to stay on the sidelines and got pulled into the action. Either way, it’s undeniably fun to see an icon like Jolie stepping onto a pickleball court.

FINNEAS and Sulewski looked the most prepared, both dressed head-to-toe in functional workout gear and sporting matching pink Volair paddles. And judging by FINNEAS’ play, this clearly wasn’t his first time. His drive, in particular, stood out.

More importantly, the event delivered exactly what it set out to do: bring people together for a good cause while having fun. Eilish more than held her own, teaming up with FINNEAS for several games. They may not be challenging the Johnson siblings anytime soon, but they had their moments.

Eilish showed solid fundamentals, consistently resetting to a ready position after each shot, and her serve had noticeable pace. FINNEAS, a lefty, held down the right side throughout their games—an intentional move, perhaps, and one that suggests a bit more strategy than expected.

As more celebrities continue to pick up a paddle, it only reinforces what makes pickleball so appealing: it’s a sport that truly anyone can play and enjoy.
