Johnson family hoping Chiefs win Super Bowl, make NFL history
When the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs clinched another Super Bowl berth, JW Johnson took to Instagram to show his genuine appreciation for the Missouri-based franchise.
Johnson posted a picture of himself and his parents, Jack and Julie, attending a Chiefs game when he was just seven years old.
The caption read: “Always been a part of Chiefs nation.”
While the Johnsons currently reside in South Florida, their roots run deep in another part of the country which absolutely adores quarterback Patrick Mahomes and company.
“Jack, JW and Jorja were all born and raised in Kansas. Cheering for the Chiefs is all they’ve ever known,” shared Julie, who has coached her kids to pickleball stardom.
The Johnson family enjoyed their fair share of gamedays at Arrowhead Stadium over the years, proudly sporting red and gold, and performing the tomahawk chop.
Now, Kansas City could become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowl titles.
And with a player like Mahomes on the field, that might just come to fruition.
“It’s funny, Patrick didn’t come play for the team until the year we moved to Florida, so we have had to watch all their incredible success from halfway across the country,” she said. “But my main Chiefs crush was always Tony Gonzalez.”
Julie also shared that Jorja was particularly excited when Mahomes and Travis Kelce invested in Chicken N Pickle, one of her favorite companies and sponsors.
Jorja actually shared a photo of herself playing pickleball and wearing a black top and bright red pair of shorts that look awfully like that bold Kansas City red.
Her caption read: “Smiling because it’s almost Super Bowl weekend. #gochiefs.”
The Johnsons are eagerly anticipating Sunday's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, which should be an entertaining affair.
And it would mean the world to them to see the Chiefs hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy after the final whistle.
“We wish them all the best this weekend and we will certainly be cheering for them to make history,” concluded Julie. “Go Chiefs!”
