Keith Hernandez “distracted” by female pickleball player during live broadcast

During the broadcast of the New York Mets spring opener against the Houston Astros on Saturday, Feb 22, commentator Keith Hernandez got extremely distracted by pickleball.

In the middle of the broadcast, camera crews cut away to a nearby pickleball game where a shirtless man was dinking cross court to a woman who was barely clothed herself.

From the booth, Hernandez admits, “I’m distracted.” After seeing the woman’s unique pickleball outfit – or lack thereof.

The woman, clad in very small green shorts paired with a top that resembles more of a triangle bikini top than a sports bra. And her physique is certainly put on display.

Mets fans found Hernandez’s candid “I’m distracted” to be humorous and relatable, or a little too honest. Some add this to Hernandez’ legacy that makes him a beloved figure in the booth. Others found the remark a little gross.

But perhaps he’s simply distracted by the beautiful cross court dinks? Or the pristine pickleball courts?

I think this proves that pickleball is not a sport only for old people. Look at these young hot people hitting the courts and even distracting great commentators. I personally love to see it.

Though I wouldn’t recommend playing a tense game of singles in her outfit. Might not be secure enough for the pickleball court. But it’s certainly getting people talking about our sport after the national broadcast during a baseball game. So, it’s a win for us.
