New pickleball reality show will feature Nick Kyrgios, Rachel Starr
The latest pickleball entertainment offering will showcase America’s fastest-growing sport on a reality program called "Smash City."
The four-part series will feature eight content creators participating in a pickleball competition with “silly" and unique challenges, with $20,000 being awarded to the winner.
Tennis icon Nick Kyrgios—who is part of the ownership group for the Miami Pickleball Club—and reality TV star Sophie Stonehouse will host the program, while actress Rachel Starr will referee the competition.
“I was super excited when they told me the idea,” Kyrgios told Complex. “I’ve hosted a couple TV shows in the past, and at this point in my career, I’m always looking to do things outside the box. Pickleball for me is very close to tennis, so that instantly caught my interest.”
A star-studded group of reality show contestants, sports figures, and models including Nathan Webb, Joey Joy, Adi Spiegelman, Sachia Vickery, Nellie Cronen, Kayla Fitzgerald, Trippie Bri, and Steph Mi round out the cast for the show.
"Smash City" is scheduled to launch on June 13.
