Owen Wilson showcases pickleball skills in Apple TV+ golf series 'Stick'

Add actor Owen Wilson to the ever-growing list of celebrities with a knack for playing America's fastest-growing sport.

The 56-year-old puts his pickleball skills on display in a new golf comedy series called  Stick that debuts on Wednesday on Apple TV+.

The series definitely has an interesting storyline, according to the official description.

"Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson) was headed for golf greatness when an on-course meltdown derailed his career. Now struggling to stay afloat, he goes all in to mentor Santi (Peter Dager) - a teenage phenom with immense potential - and maybe save himself."

Wilson and Dager join forces in the pickleball scene, which features a rather contentious doubles match.

There's even an argument over a kitchen violation involving the Hollywood star.

"I wasn't in the kitchen. I was on the other side of the house," says Wilson at one point during the exchange with their opponents.

"I would argue, but I don't know the rules," he added later in the scene.

Fortunately, Wilson manages to seal the victory in the end with a perfectly executed smash.

"Hey! Good game! Shake hands? Hey! No hard feelings," he quips as their opponents walk away in disgust.

"Who knew I loved pickleball?" he concluded.

Wilson, of course, is famous for such movies as Meet the ParentsBehind Enemy Lines, Zoolander, Wedding Crashers, Starsky & Hutch, Midnight in ParisYou, Me and Dupree, Marley & Me, Hall Pass, and The Internship.
