Pickleball has 'grown into kind of an obsession' for Emma Watson

If a picture really is worth 1,000 words, then it's safe to say that actress Emma Watson feels right at home on the pickleball court.

Case in point, a series of images captured by photographer Greg Williams earlier this summer showcasing Watson enjoying America's fastest-growing sport in Cannes, France.

The pictures were featured in Hollywood Authentic in conjunction with a candid Q&A interview conducted by writer Hassan Akkad.

"Why did you pick up a sport that is named after a pickle? What happened there?" he asked.

"A friend of mine’s parents taught me how to play. They’re retired tennis pros. Over time, it’s just grown into kind of an obsession – an obsession I feel good about," replied Watson. "If I can do anything meaningful with my life, perhaps it’ll be of being in service to the great game that is pickleball!"

Watson, of course, has previously starred in the Harry Potter franchise, along with films likeThe Bling RingThe Perks of Being a WallflowerBeauty and the Beast and Little Women during her storied career.

Watson also appeared on the 2022 CBS reality TV sports special, Pickled, where celebrities competed in a charity pickleball tournament. She was paired with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard.

Watson clearly has a genuine love for pickleball.

And we couldn't be happier.

"It’s the sound the ball makes when you smack it," she told Akkad. "It’s the best therapy I never paid for."

The girl has a pretty wicked forehand, too.
