Sam Querrey recreates Taylor Swift’s new album cover
DALLAS, TX – Never in my Wildest Dreams did I think I’d get to write about Taylor Swift on pickleball.com. And ‘tis the damn season, that day has arrived.
During her acceptance speech at the Grammys on Feb. 4, Swift announced the release of her 11th studio album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department.” After sharing the news and album cover, Swifties were buzzing with happiness.
Former tennis player turned pickleball pro, Sam Querrey, jumped into action to recreate this Timeless photo and put a pickleball spin on it.
The artwork for Swift's upcoming release features the superstar singer-songwriter laying on a white bed in a black tank top and shorts with the album title above her. It’s Clean, vulnerable, and Delicate.
Querrey replicated it perfectly.
In perfect pickleball Style, the 36-year-old lies on a white bed in FILA briefs, clutching a Franklin paddle. A couple of pickleballs are thrown in for good measure, too. He recreated Swift’s album cover like a Mastermind.
Every detail was studied All Too Well, from the matching black and white tone, to the photo cropped right at the nose and above the knee. Even the album title script is wonderfully similar. The precision is Untouchable.
In Querrey’s version, however, it’s titled “The Retired Tennis Players Department.”
Querrey even incorporates Swift’s tagline “All’s fair in love and poetry” into his Instagram caption by creatively changing it to “All’s fair in love and pickleball.”
I think he knows exactly who his target audience is when replicating this album cover, and I’m simply Enchanted by Querrey.
Don’t Blame Me, but I think Sam just became my new favorite pickleballer.
