The trailer for A Pickleball Christmas, starring James Lafferty and Zibby Allen, was released on Wednesday.

The movie premieres on Saturday, December 20 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT on Lifetime.

The plot is rather enjoyable.

Fresh off the biggest win of his career, tennis star Luke Hollis (James Lafferty) heads home to Florida for Christmas, only to discover his family's racquet club is on the verge of being sold.

Teaming up with Caroline (Zibby Allen), the club's pickleball coach, Luke reluctantly agrees to compete in a high-stakes holiday tournament that could save the club.

As sparks fly both on and off the court, Luke realizes the greatest victory might just be love, family, and a new chapter at home.

A Pickleball Christmas is Lafferty and Allen’s first holiday movie.

Lafferty is best known for playing Nathan Scott on the TV series One Tree Hill.

He has been busy in recent years with his series Everyone is Doing Great, which he directed, executive produced, and cowrote. The show is streaming on Tubi.  

Allen wrapped Virgin River Season 7 and will begin filming Season 8 in 2026. She plays the role of Brie Sheridan.
