
Weezer invites fans to pickleball event in Santa Monica
Santa Monica Pickleball Center was buzzing on Monday—especially for Weezer fans.
To celebrate an upcoming tour, the band has been hosting events all over their hometown of Los Angeles as part of Weezer: The Gathering - Initiation Week.
The itinerary included inviting people to participate in a pickleball tournament against band members Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner, and everyone had a blast.
The 32-city arena run with special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups kicks off September 8 in Sacramento and travels across North America.
Weezer is also dropping a new track “Shine Again” on Wednesday from their upcoming album, which has yet to be officially titled or given a release date.
Spanning more than three decades, Weezer are an instantly recognizable cultural force with over 35 million records sold worldwide, cementing the foursome as an influential cornerstone of pop music.
Tickets for the Weezer: The Gathering tour are available starting with a Citi, Verizon, Mastercard, American Express, and Weezer fan club presale on Tuesday.
Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, April 3 at 10am local time on Weezer.com.
