How to Verify Your Brackets in Live Console

Before you can start events on tournament day, every event must be verified in the Live Console. Verification finalizes your bracket structure — you confirm the teams, set the format, configure scoring, seed players, and adjust first-round matchups if needed. Watch the short video below or follow the step-by-step instructions for full detail.

Note

Complete all player withdrawals, event merges, and registration changes before verifying. Verification locks the bracket structure. If you need to make changes after verification, use Start Over/Un-Verify from the event Options menu — but note this resets the bracket.

How to verify a bracket

  1. From your tournament, open the 3-line menu and select Live Console.
  2. Find the event under the Verify tab and click Verify Event.

Verification steps through six tabs:

TabWhat you do here
1 — TeamsReview registered teams. Players without a partner appear under Bad Teams and won't be included in the bracket. Confirm your team count and click Save.
2 — FormatSelect the bracket format (single elimination, double elimination, round robin, etc.). Each option shows the total number of matches for that format. Click Save.
3 — SettingsFor round robin: set number of rounds, playoff format, court assignment preference, print settings, and score format. Click Save.
4 — SeedingArrange team seeding using the Sort Item button or drag and drop. Adjust or skip as needed.
5 — MatchupsReview first-round matchups. Swap pairings if players are from the same club or are related — the system flags same-club matchups automatically.
6 — SummaryReview all your selections. When satisfied, click Complete Verification to finalize the event.

Once verified, the event moves from the Verify tab to the Waiting tab in Live Console. Repeat for each event.

If you need to make changes after verification

Select Options next to the event in the Waiting tab and choose Start Over/Un-Verify. This returns the event to the Verify tab so you can make changes. Note: un-verifying resets the bracket structure but does not delete registrations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Bad Teams?

Players without a listed partner appear under Bad Teams in Tab 1. They cannot be included in a doubles bracket. Withdraw them or move them to the waitlist before completing verification.

What if I need to change the format after verifying?

Use Start Over/Un-Verify from the event Options menu in the Waiting tab. This resets the bracket structure. You'll need to go through the full verification flow again.

Do the settings from event setup automatically apply during verification?

No. Settings you configured during event setup (score format, estimated time, etc.) pre-fill the verification tabs but you can change them during verification. What you enter at verification takes effect.
