Pickleball shoe review: K-Swiss Hyper Court Express 2 x Lucky in Love
Everyone always wants to know: What are the best pickleball shoes on the market?
Truthfully, it’s tough to have a one-size-fits-all shoe because every player, foot, and playing style is different, so what works for me might not work for my doubles partner.
But for someone who cares more about aesthetics and general comfort over the technicalities of pivot points and pro level footwork, I recently tried out the K-Swiss Hyper Court Express 2 X Lucky in Love court shoe - and I’m incredibly impressed.
For some context, I tested out these shoes on a pickleball date, and it’s not a coincidence that I played my best with these on my feet.
At $119.95, you’re going to get a much higher quality shoe that’s made specifically for pickleball play, so I highly recommend investing in a quality court shoe that provides protection and support, and lessens your chance of injury.
I would best describe these as a more structured shoe. They’re more supportive and the sides are more stiff rather than extremely flexible. For someone who’s prone to roll an ankle, I really liked the feel of these. Sturdiness is a characteristic I prefer with my pickleball court shoes.
That being said, they didn’t feel too heavy or clunky. I could easily dash around the court playing a competitive game of singles.
These shoes accomplished everything I needed them to. Maximum support and great for rotating and lateral movements to chase down a long drive. And they were extremely comfortable. I felt no soreness or tenderness after intense play.
I’m between a size 7 and 7.5, and the 7.5 was the perfect mix of breathable, yet fitted. So, I’d say they fit true to size.
And finally, the lilac color with white and black is so easy on the eyes. Paired with a classic little black tennis dress, this fit was perfect for the Best Dressed List.
I rate these shoes 8 out of 10. I highly recommend.
If you’re looking for maximum arch support, I highly recommend the Skechers Viper Court Elite pickleball shoe. I’ve worn those bad boys for months and they never disappointed me.
