The pickleball apparel brand women need to know: tasc Performance

One of the most popular athleticwear brands I see among men is tasc Performance. It feels like everywhere I look — the gym, the pickleball courts, and the golf course — men are wearing tasc.

I was a little hesitant to try the brand myself. While tasc has built a strong reputation in men’s athleticwear, it’s not something I typically see discussed in women’s activewear.

That uncertainty quickly changed after trying the brand’s On the Court 13" Skirt. It has become my new go-to pickleball skirt and the first piece I reach for before heading to the courts.

I have mine in navy, but it’s also available in white, black, and a fun pink-and-white pattern. Simply put, this skirt checks all the boxes.

Finding the perfect athletic skirt can be surprisingly difficult. They can be too long, too short, too loose, too restrictive, or missing that ideal amount of stretch. And then there’s the biggest challenge: the built-in shorts.

Sometimes the shorts are so tight they feel like they’re squeezing your thighs, while other times they’re too loose, ride up during play, and leave you constantly adjusting them between points.

The right balance is hard to find, but tasc managed to get it right.

The skirt comes with matching built-in shorts featuring grippy elastic that provides the perfect combination of comfort and security. I spent an hour drilling singles, followed by two games of mixed doubles, and by the end of the session, I realized I hadn’t adjusted the shorts once. For an athletic skirt, that’s almost unheard of.

The fabric is another standout feature. It’s incredibly lightweight, which is a major advantage for anyone playing pickleball in hot and humid conditions. The brand's performance fabrics are designed to be anti-odor and moisture-wicking, with bamboo charcoal technology that helped keep me feeling cool and comfortable even during a long, intense drill session.

The skirt’s design is also a major win. It has a sleek, versatile look that pairs effortlessly with different tops, jackets, and shoes. Whether you’re heading to the courts or running errands afterward, it’s a piece that easily transitions into your everyday wardrobe.

If you’re going to add one item to your pickleball wardrobe after reading this, make it the On the Court 13" Skirt. It’s quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear, and it’s a purchase I highly recommend.

Another tasc piece that quickly became a favorite is the Recess Quarter Zip. For someone playing pickleball in Florida, it’s the ideal lightweight layer. Like the skirt, it features tasc’s signature moisture-wicking fabric with bamboo cooling technology, but the biggest bonus is the UPF 50+ sun protection, a must-have when you’re spending hours outdoors.

The quarter zip is lightweight, offers four-way stretch, and comes in a variety of fun colors, making it an easy piece to throw on before, during, or after a day on the court.

I also tried the Nola Tank, a classic sleeveless high-neck top that provides a little extra coverage while still delivering the performance features I look for in athleticwear, including UPF sun protection.

By now, it’s clear I’m a fan of tasc. But what stands out most to me is the thought and intention behind the brand’s approach to sustainability. From the manufacturing process to the materials used in each piece, tasc prioritizes more responsible practices, incorporating recycled materials alongside organic cotton and bamboo viscose to create clothing that feels as good as it performs.

With so many athletic and performance apparel options available, I appreciate finding a brand that not only creates high-quality gear but also puts a focus on making a positive impact. If you’re looking to upgrade your pickleball wardrobe, tasc is absolutely worth trying.
