Zyia Active: Cutting-edge athletic fashion for pickleball players
Wondering which brand Connor Garnett wears at tournaments? It’s Zyia Active.
The Utah-based athleticwear company is renowned for incredible fabrics, versatile designs, and being first to experiment with new trends.
Zyia also outfits pros like Tammy and Martin Emmrich and MLP's Utah Black Diamonds.
And with new releases on their site every Wednesday, there’s something for every player and activity.
Zyia Active CEO Erin Bradley and Chairman Jeremiah Bradley recently gave us the inside scoop into entering the pickleball scene with style.
“We both play tennis, and we were already designing clothes that fit right in line with what a pickleball player would wear,” explained Jeremiah “Honestly, a lot of things just coincidentally happened to where we got connected with the Utah Black Diamonds and Connor Garnett, and we thought it’d be a fun market to get into.”
Pickleball aligned with their brand pillars—activity, community, uplift, and light—so getting involved with America's fastest-growing sport was perfect fit.
“We’re all about culture here, and we see that pickleball is the same way,” said Jeremiah. ”When you play pickleball, you become a part of a family, group, and culture, so that’s something we were drawn to.”
Since then, Erin, Jeremiah, and the team at Zyia Active have benefitted from the cultural shift where more and more people are going about their daily lives in athleticwear.
Whether it’s hitting the gym, playing pickleball, or running errands, people live in athletic apparel.
“Times have really changed, especially after Covid. People want to wear clothes that look good, but are also comfortable,” noted Jeremiah. “I like versatility in clothing where I can wear something to go rock climbing in, and then go play pickleball in it. These are the kinds of clothes that are comfortable and breathable.”
Erin doesn’t see athleticwear’s dominance in streetwear changing anytime soon.
“There’s so much potential and so much room for new, fun, and exciting styles and colors,” she added. “We’re constantly looking forward. It’s a really cool space for us to be in, and we don’t see it changing.”
Not only that, athleticwear is elevating.
It’s not just about functionality, it’s also about fashion.
“If you look at what people wore to the gym in 1995, it was a cotton T-shirt. Now, people look really good when they go to the gym. Activewear is really good looking,” said Jeremiah. “I think pickleball is similar in that now pickleball is evolving to where people are looking for activewear to look good and feel good when they play pickleball.”
So what are Erin’s current favorite looks?
“I currently love dresses. I never thought I’d be a dress girl, but every time I go play tennis or pickleball, I gravitate towards dresses,” she mentioned. “The match point dress is one of my favorites. I live in my pickleball and tennis attire, but as soon as I’m home, I wear the retreat sweat set.”
