Our top 5 favorite paddles with durable grit
Spin is one of the best things to happen to pickleball, but the truth about most gritty paddles is that the spin does not last. The texture that makes a paddle feel special out of the wrapper wears smooth after a few weeks of hard play, and you end up buying a fresh one just to get back to where you started. The good news is that a handful of brands have gone after that problem from completely different directions, building grit that holds up instead of fading away. Here are five of our favorites, in no particular order, and what makes each one special.
11Six24 Power 2 Series

This brand went from niche to pro tier fast, and the Power 2 series is a big reason why. Now in the bag of PPA Tour pros like Dekel Bar, the Power 2 lets the rest of us hold onto that pro tier performance week after week, rather than cracking open a fresh paddle every time we want the top tier grit back.

Selkirk Boomstik

The OG of durable grit, and yes, it is less than a year old itself, the Boomstik is one of the most powerful paddles on the market. Selkirk's Infinigrit surface gives players a way to rein that power back in, with a texture Selkirk says holds up at least twice as long as traditional raw carbon fiber.
Six Zero Coral

In a market where the best tech kept flowing toward power paddles, Six Zero put its Diamond Tough texture on a genuinely top tier all-court option when it launched the Coral lineup. If you want placement and precision without giving up a gritty surface that lasts, the Coral belongs on your short list.

Honolulu J2CR Crystal Endurance Grit

One of this year's paddle of the year contenders, the J2CR and its sparkly, gritty Crystal Endurance Grit is an absolute beast on the court, but it is not all power and spin. The unique J2 hybrid shape delivers nearly edge to edge forgiveness, so players who do not find the center every time can still keep the ball in play, all while hanging onto that long lasting grit.

Spartus P1

Spartus marches to the beat of its own drum, and the P1 is a hit. The design is understated, but the spin it puts on the ball is impossible to miss. Like the Coral, it is not an insane hitter, so if you like to bend the ball and would rather not replace a paddle every few months, the P1 earns a long look.
Honorable Mentions
Chorus Coda

Boomy, forgiving, and offered in three well designed shapes, the Coda and its Harmony grit is worth a look for anyone shopping for a new power paddle. I personally love the Hybrid shape with the squared top, maybe my favorite shape on the market.
Selkirk OMNI

Still too new to rank with the rest, the OMNI is already a hit with players around the country, and since it carries the same Infinigrit surface as the Boomstik, we expect the same kind of loyalty to build over the next few months.
