Pickleball's hottest fall fashion trends
It’s time to put away the biker shorts and tennis dresses, and break out the jackets and leggings. With every change of season comes an influx of trending colors, fabrics, and silhouettes, even on the pickleball court.
Here are some trends that are dominating pro pickleball fall fashion:
1. (That’s That Me) Espresso
I am seeing this gorgeous brown espresso color absolutely everywhere this season. Leading athleisure brands Lululemon and alo yoga have both incorporated it into their latest fall collections.
Rachel Rohrabacher and Anna Bright also debuted the color at the CIBC Atlanta Slam in September and paired espresso fitted tops with white skirts for a look that perfectly popped.
2. Layers are everything
Fall is the season of layering with a slight chill in the air, so jackets, vests, sweaters, and pullovers are perfect for warming up before your match and removing when things get sweaty.
Anna Leigh Waters has been spotted wearing a tennis chic FILA sweater before her matches.
Parris Todd also loves to rock a light layering jacket before hitting the court that perfectly matches her tournament day fit.
3. Cozy and romantic reds
Off the court, red is the "it" color of the season. Red is also popular in athleisure, too.
From rich burgundy to an electric, bold red, it's definitely the fall color to add to your wardrobe.
Liz Truluck recently sported a two-tone Lacoste red skirt that was perfect for the season.
4. Leopard print has made a comeback
I never thought I’d see the day, but leopard is back in style. That's why I’m convinced I should never get rid of any clothes, because they'll definitely be back in style next season. This year, it’s leopard.
Leopard is making a strong statement in athletic wear as well.
Gymshark, Aerie, and Abercrombie’s athletic line YPB are all-in with the latest animal print trend, while other brands like Athleta are putting their own spin on the classic pattern.
I’m hoping to see one of the pros rock a leopard print for the Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships next month in Texas.
5. Perfect Puffer
I’m based in the south, so my version of cold is 70 degrees, and puffer jackets are a fall and winter necessity for a reason. What I find super exciting, though, are the twists on puffer styles this season. Lightweight, but puffy vests are my current favorite for the court. I’m also seeing a lot of gym bags made with that quilted puffer material. It's so cute for this chilly season.
I’ll be keeping an eye out to see which players debut this particular trend on the PPA Tour.
