Life Time goes “all-in” on pickleball, offers 29 courts in Atlanta facility
DALLAS, TX - Demand for more pickleball courts nationwide continues to rise.
With that in mind, Life Time announced that they’re going “all-in on pickleball” by expanding the number of courts at their Peachtree Corners location where the Vizzy Atlanta Open was recently held.
“In 2021, Life Time declared that we were “all-in” on pickleball. To that end, we’ve become the largest owner and operator of dedicated pickleball courts in the United States. We’ve seen a surge of demand for pickleball among our members and currently operate nearly 700 pickleball courts across our portfolio of clubs,” said Natalie Bushaw, Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
The Peachtree Corners location will offer 29 pickleball courts, including 12 indoor courts and 17 outdoor courts. Four pickleball courts will also feature stadium seating.
“Stadium seating creates a truly special experience for players and spectators – and something that remains unique from many other locations. It also ensures that our premier destination, including Peachtree Corners, continues to be a top-quality venue for our members, athletes, and spectators,” said Bushaw.
Long term, Life Time aims to establish themselves as the best-in-class experience for their members.
“Interest in and demand for pickleball continues to explode, and we’re excited to offer a world-class destination that elevates the profile of pickleball not just at Peachtree Corners and for Life Time, but the sport as a whole,” added Bushaw.
However, they’re not completely eliminating tennis. Life Time will continue to have 18 dedicated tennis courts, but they’re also adding “Pickleball” to the signage.
Based on the photo renderings, it looks like a pickleball player’s paradise. And it’s clear that the team at Life Time isn't just building temporary courts in hopes of satisfying the current demand. They really are going “all-in.”
With successful health clubs like Life Time setting the bar high when it comes to prioritizing America's fastest-growing sport, it’s clear that pickleball is here to stay.
“We’re excited to keep delivering our best-in-class offerings with this expansion for both our members from across the country and today’s current and rising professionals. Be it tournaments, skill clinics, league play, events, and more, the addition of these courts allows for even more people to participate and/or compete and enjoy while supporting players at every level of the game,” concluded Bushaw.
