3 things to watch for on Friday at MLP Dallas
The Advil Targeted Relief MLP Dallas continues on Friday with eight matches across Championship Court and Grandstand Court at Pickler Universe in Carrolton.
Here is the order of play:
Now, let’s get into to what to watch for.
- The New Jersey 5s (12-3, 38pts) will take the court for the first time since acquiring Noe Khlif in a trade with the Miami Pickleball Club last week. Khlif is set to take Zane Navratil’s spot in the starting lineup and will play men’s doubles alongside Will Howells and mixed doubles with Meghan Dizon. New Jersey will face the SoCal Hard Eights (4-17, 15pts) and Phoenix Flames (4-16, 13pts) on Friday.
- After securing a 4-0 sweep of the New York Hustlers on Thursday, the Los Angeles Mad Drops (15-5, 40pts) will face a gauntlet of top teams on Friday in the form of the St. Louis Shock (19-1, 60pts) and Texas Ranchers (8-6, 27pts). The Mad Dops beat both of these teams in DreamBreakers last month at MLP Daytona Beach and will be looking to have similar success in Dallas with new acquisition Ben Johns.
- Speaking of Texas, the Ranchers will play their first matches of the weekend against the Carolina Hogs (5-15, 17pts) and the aforementioned Mad Drops. This will be the team’s second event with Kaitlyn Christian, who should be a valuable asset in DreamBreakers as the No. 3 ranked women’s singles player on the PPA Tour.
Grandstand Court action begins at 11:00am CT, while Championship Court matches will start at noon CT on Pickleballtv.
