3 things to watch for on Sunday at MLP Dallas
The Advil Targeted Relief MLP Dallas concludes on Sunday with seven matches across Championship Court and Grandstand Court at Pickler Universe in Carrollton.
Here is the order of play:
Now, let’s get into what to watch for.
- Seven teams will play their final regular season matches on Sunday. The league-leading St. Louis Shock (23-1, 72pts) and Dallas Flash (21-2, 67pts) are on that list as well, so their race for the top seed will also come to an end. In order to overtake St. Louis, Dallas needs to beat both the New York Hustlers (4-19, 10pts) and Los Angeles Mad Drops (17-7, 47pts) in regulation and hope that the Shock fall to the New Jersey 5s (16-3, 49pts) in regulation in the final match of the day.
- Speaking of the 5s, they will face the Texas Ranchers (10-8, 33pts) in a rematch of the Mid-Season Tournament third place match. New Jersey won that match 3-1, but both gender doubles games finished 12-10. The Ranchers will be out for revenge as they look to recover from a hard-fought loss against the Flash on Saturday night. Both squads will also be in action at next week’s The Picklr MLP Salt Lake City.
- Another one of the day’s marquee matchups features Dallas taking on Los Angeles. The Mad Drops have looked dangerous with Ben Johns on the roster, but they were swept by the Shock on Friday and fell to the 5s in an epic DreamBreaker on Saturday. With a playoff berth already secured, Los Angeles will look to end their regular season on a high note and play spoiler against Dallas on Sunday.
Grandstand Court action begins at 10:00am CT, while Championship Court matches will start at 11am CT on Pickleballtv.
