adidas Pickleball signs Humberg in second notable move of 2025
After making waves last week by signing Federico Staksrud, adidas Pickleball is continuing its busy start to the 2025 season.
The company announced Tuesday afternoon that Mari Humberg would be joining its roster of signed players, which includes Staksrud as well as Rafa Hewett.

Humberg is coming off a breakout 2024 campaign that saw her earn five PPA medals and move up to No. 19 in the women’s doubles rankings after starting the year at No. 78.
It’s a full-circle moment for Humberg, who also represented adidas while playing college tennis at the University of Louisville.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join adidas—a brand that has been part of my journey from my university days to now,” she shared. “As someone who grew up loving adidas, I’m thrilled to represent a brand that shares my passion for innovation, performance, and breaking boundaries.”
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Humberg is adidas’ second signee with South American roots; the aforementioned Staksrud also hails from the continent, specifically Argentina.
“Mari’s groundbreaking talent, perseverance, and dynamic personality embody everything we stand for at adidas. She is more than just an exceptional athlete; she is a symbol of strength and opportunity for women in pickleball worldwide,” said Bryan Ogle from adidas Pickleball.
Humberg’s first tournament representing adidas will be the Proton Tucson Open, set to run Feb. 5-9. She’ll compete in women’s singles, women’s doubles with Lindsey Newman, and mixed doubles with Rafa Hewett.
