After their play on Friday, though, it might be the last time they have to do so.
The No. 41 seeds took down No. 9 seeds Callie Smith and Jay Devilliers, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9 to make it to the Round of 16.
With the win, Martinez Vich continues his impressive run at Desert Ridge, which already includes defeating Ben Johns in singles on his way to the men’s singles final.
This is the also the second match of the tournament where the Spaniard has gotten the better of Jay Devilliers in three games: he also did so in their men’s singles semifinal match.
Braverman and Martinez Vich will next face new pairing and No. 6 seeds Catherine Parenteau and Christian Alshon.
