Bright, Rohrabacher outlast Black, Todd in three games

Bright spoke about the challenges that Black/Todd presented in the matchup, and what it took to pull away in the third game.
“Tyra’s just so long, and she’s just kind of more athletic than the rest of us. It’s a bit of a cheat code, so it’s really tough to play her. And then Parris is also playing so well and adding a lot of new shots,” she explained. “I think going into Game 3, we had to get a little meaner, lock in, and just raise our level. They raised their level in Game 2 and we weren’t ready for that, so we had to come out swinging in Game 3."
This result sets the No. 2 seeds up to face top seeds Anna Leigh Waters/Catherine Parenteau on Sunday.
It’s a matchup that has developed into the sport’s premier rivalry, but Rohrabacher doesn’t want to let the moment become too big.
“We can only control what we can control on the court,” she said. “We want to try and focus on ourselves a little bit more and not worry about who’s on the other side of the net.”
We’ll see what the next installment of the rivalry has in store.
