Bright, Rohrabacher roll into women’s doubles final
LOS ANGELES, CA - April may not have gotten off to the best start for Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher when they fell in the Round of 16 in the month’s first event in North Carolina, but they seem to have hit their stride over the past few weeks.
In fact, the pair hasn’t dropped a game in women’s doubles since that loss, earning gold last week in Houston and making the final again this week on the west coast.
Bright and Rohrabacher came through a semifinal clash with sisters Mary and Maggie Brascia with an 11-9, 11-4 victory to make their fourth final of the year.
The two have had an impressive showing in 2024—with three titles to go along with a win against previously undefeated pairing of Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau in Austin—but Bright says that consistency and decision-making are key for the tandem as they pursue new heights.
“Minimizing our less-than-ideal decisions is what we’re all about right now,” she shared.
The top seeds will face No. 6 seeds Lacy Schneemann and Vivian Glozman—who finished the day with impressive victories over the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds—in Sunday’s final.
