Brascia, Dizon to fill in for injured Wright at PPA Finals
The CIBC PPA Tour Finals don’t begin for another week, but we’ve already got some notable substitutions ahead of the season-ending event.
Etta Wright was set to compete in both women’s doubles and mixed doubles in Southern California, but she sustained an injury during last week’s Major League Pickleball playoffs in Orlando.
That same injury also forced her to miss the Texas Ranchers’ DreamBreaker against the St. Louis Shock in the third-place match, which allowed Pierina Imparato to make her MLP debut as an alternate for Texas.
Thus, Wright—an 11-time PPA medalist in 2024—will not be in action at the season-ending event.
Mary Brascia will take her spot in women’s doubles and partner with Meghan Dizon in the ATP Pool.
The aforementioned Dizon will do the same in mixed doubles and compete alongside James Ignatowich.
Action starts Dec. 4 from Life Time Rancho San Clemente, and you can catch Dave Fleming’s full preview below.
